The Saga continues…

Felix and Silas knew the Tower. It was evil.

For as many years as they remembered, the constant hum had been the background of their every waking moment. They felt the muffled cries of misery that emanated from the structure. Cries of loss and longing, indistinct and ethereal yet still poignant and terrifyingly real.

It held the inhabitants of the Bowl in servitude. Taking what it wanted … taking what it needed. The best anyone could hope for, was to be left alone. But that now seemed a lot less likely

As a child, Mortella had been endowed with natural beauty; fiery brushed-bronze hair, emerald-green eyes, and flawless complexion. These were gifts not to be squandered and it had served her well, but now she had been summoned back to the Tower.

Curtailed by The Presence and commissioned by The One, Mortella must succeed for The Black to be regained. Fail and … well …

Mortella, Felix and Silas knew that failure was not an option. Their Blood was the key.

The Saga begins…

Shan was not told much about the Tower that stood so silent but cast its shadow over the Bowl.

The Tower invoked wonder tinged by fear.

Despite living whole generations under its watchful presence very few understood the truth. Overlooking the Bowl, a land of lush pastures and cultivated fields, it observed daily life whilst the people lived and thrived, at least they convinced themselves they thrived.

Shan, Molly and Moira were 13 years old. They had not met, but each had attracted the Tower's attention and that was never a good thing. The Tower needed girls with an Influence; the ability to effect things about them and so it would determine who would be selected and deemed worthy.

Yet things are rarely as straight forward as they appear and the Influence of Blood should not be underestimated.

The first book of the thrilling new fantasy series; Blood Influence.

Reviews

  • Blood Influence is a beautifully written novel that takes the reader into the world of the "Bowl". The environment is carefully described from a characters point of view, breathing life into the story and richness into the very individual experiences of each protagonist. The LORE of this world grows. First it introduces us to the rumour and speculation by the lands inhabitants before building up as a threat. Then the writer pays careful attention to the unique experiences of the many "voices" of the book, building up to a moment of reveal whilst still maintaining an air of mystery, atmosphere and danger. An excellent read.

  • This was a book well worth reading. Full of strong characters, interesting story lines of multiple characters converging into a place of physical, emotional and psychological depth, intrigue and terror. I’ve always enjoyed character driven novels and blood influence is surely that and more. Read it!

  • A very enjoyable and imaginative story. It takes you into a new world of the Bowl, where the Dark Tower absorbs people with power to control the weather and lives of those living in the bowl. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the trilogy.
